Answering some important questions you may have
What do I need?
Zoom as this is where our classes will be held.
Facebook as this is where the replays will be uploaded + where our private community access will be.
Dumbbells
Optional: a mini band. This is great for added resistance but is not required.
What weight of dumbells will I need?
My recommendation is one set of heavier dumbells and one set of lighter dumbells.
It all depends on your fitness level but my recommendation is:
Heavier Dumbell Set: 10 lbs and up.
Lighter Dumbbell Set: 3 - 8 lbs (5lbs is recommended).
How is it delivered?
Every session will run live on Zoom (next round Time TBA). The replay will be uploaded to our private Facebook group that you will have access to for 24 hours. As soon as the next day's session is uploaded the previous session will be taken down.
Why is it only a 24-hour replay access?
To support you in getting the results intended for this specific program, which is to step into a ritual practice to show up for you and your body daily, which means designing it for you to tap into your inner dedication and commitment. When we show up for ourselves and our bodies daily starting with a doable commitment such as 20 minutes a day we not only see physical results over time but internally we are more feeling energized, nourished, and connected to ourselves on an even deeper energetic level. But, it takes commitment and consistency to begin to make this a lifestyle practice.
Think of it as if you were signing up for a training program or class in a physical gym or studio, you sign up and show up for yourself and your commitment by attending the class. If you decided to not go to the class, you will not experience the session or class. This 24 hours allows ample time for you to commit to yourself by making it apart of your day for 20 minutes. It’s all apart of the intention of this program to experience the results of the program which is more than just working out, the intention is to use fitness as a practice to ritually show up for you, your body, and feeling good daily through movement.
What is the workout style like?
The workout program is done for and guided for you in a way where you get to get to know your body, your pace, your tempo, and the opportunity to explore new styles of movement and exercise.
Therefore, the workouts are:
Timed and mostly circuit-based workouts.
Group training sessions, the purpose of the timed format is to take away any comparison or need to catch up or fall in rhythm with myself or anyone else - again, this is designed for you to move your body at the pace and way it wants to move.
My style of training is personal training feel in a group setting (whether you’re live with me or replay, I will always keep you in mind). This means it is not a follow-along style class like you would watch on YouTube or in person where the instructor is at the front and you follow the routine. The sessions will include demos and guidance as I will be apart of to show, but also watching, and cueing the physical to make sure that form is being excepted safely and further improve your own performance through proper direction and biomechanics (I am a Kinesiologist and Personal Trainer after all).
Fun, full of energy + deeper intuitive connective guidance from myself as you depending on the session and when I feel needs to be shared and felt by you and the participants who have joined to make each session even more connective on a deeper level.
The program is well-balanced and strategically designed to move through your whole body with elements of strength training, muscular endurance, and mobility as well as a class to discover new styles and formats of exercise to possibly discover something that speaks to your body (who knows you might surprise yourself). Further, the style and exercises may feel familiar based on your own experience or new to you completely, I enjoy fun new exercises but always with the foundational movements in play because well the basics works! Together, you will get to dive into have fun, and get familiar, and then as each session progress drop more into your body and improve performance and connect deeper once you get the flow.
Who is this for? Is it for you.
If you have any injuries or concerns please message me beforehand as well as consult with your doctor before entering a new workout program.
All Fitness Levels. I will be sharing modifications as well as extra challenges during our sessions.
If your intention is to explore and discover a fitness ritual and practice that supports you to show up for you and move your body daily for not only the physical benefits but more so how showing up for you daily will make you FEEL supporting you to connect deeper within and deepen your relationship with your body and your commitment to it, then this is for you. All you have to do is show up to the program 20 minutes a day, to begin to show up for you.
This is a commitment to your physical and energetic body nourishment and self-growth NOT just to get a daily sweat! (you may sweat, absolutely, but that’s not the goal). A good workout doesn’t equal a sweat session, sore muscles, and laying on the floor trying to catch your breath. This simply isn’t the intention and purpose of this program. However, it does not mean these workouts are easy by any means!
I note this because the purpose of RitualTwenty is to build a ritual practice to show up, your body, get moving, and connect deeper and we do this through fitness. I will be providing more challenging options as I see fit, but it will equally cue with connecting to your inner state as well as the biomechanics of the exercise first and how to increase performance without shocking the nervous system, to perform an exercise correctly before going all out.
If you decided to go all out and I as your trainer see that it is not supporting you and your body, I will cue you to slow down, to pause, to connect to your body ACTIVATE your muscles first, fire them, FEEL the movement and then move a little faster.
RitualTwenty is about connecting to your body, finding your practice, and moving daily to feel damn good and improve every day as you see fit. Having fun, discovering and connecting, and doing something for YOU daily. Fitness is the tool to support you to do that and just may get a good sweat as an added bonus IF that’s what your body called for that day, but it’s not the goal. I could absolutely make you sweat, legs shake, and lay on the floor at the end type workout, but that may not be what your body needs and could create opposite results and effects - I will be guiding you to find your pace, your rhythm, and tempo through connecting to YOUR body first.
And if you desire to be a part of a like-minded community doing it alongside you there will be a Facebook group to share your experience, and wins and stay accountable as an option as well within the group.
If any of this page is speaking to you, then this program is for you!
This is the official first round of RitualTwenty. Here are just a few testimonials from clients who have experienced other programs.
I worked with Brittni for both rounds of Endurance, and thanks to her personal training style, I have gone from feeling overwhelmed by challenging workouts to making exercise a regular part of my life again.
I am someone who experiences panic attacks from time to time, and whenever I tried to do high-intensity workouts, I felt like I was going to pass out. The sensations from my heart rate increasing and my breath changing often triggered panic attacks in the past, which led to me sticking to yoga instead.
The personal training that Brittni offers in Endurance isn't just a workout. She coaches you on how to be present with your nervous system while you increase your heart rate and breath. The specific tools she offers in her training style became a lifeline for me, and I surprised myself at what I was able to do once my nervous system was regulated. I went from being the woman who works out once every few months to the woman who goes to the gym four times a week thanks to this program + Brittni's training style.
Brittni showed me that I am capable of doing more with my body than I initially thought, and that I can work with my nervous system rather than against it. She also taught me how to love the sensations that used to scare me, such as the burn in my muscles and the adrenaline moving through my body during extreme exertion.
Brittni's training style is skilled, intentional, and motivating. She will help you to cultivate a mindful connection with your muscles, nervous system, and breath all while challenging your body in fun ways. I recommend Brittni to anyone who wants to discover how to love working out.
I never thought I would be the regular gym-goer or the woman who completes 2 months of personal training, but here we are!! Thank-you so much Brittni.
Brittni has created a workout experience that perfectly suits my intuitive, free-flowing mind, body, and soul. I could never really get into going to the gym or establish any kind of consistency when it came to working out or moving my body and thought working out for the longest time “wasn’t for me”. But with Brittni’s approach, I was able to not only commit to a workout 4 times a week but through the vessel of working out in this way, I learned how to listen and understand my body. My body and I actually started to communicate back and forth and I knew, intuitively, how to respond at the moment.
Brittni taught me how to balance between pulling back or easing into the movements without stressing the body or my nervous system and knowing when to push myself a little further because I’m actually ready for the challenge.
“Omg seriously Brittni Colleen is the dream personal trainer I have been waiting my whole life to find!!!!!”
I have struggled with physical activity all my life because it always felt like my mind was BEGGING ME to stop stimulating it (I’m sure I’m not alone on this one).
Brittni used psychology as well as kinesiology in her training. So thanks to Brittni, I now know how to synch my brain with my body so that it doesn’t feel like torture anymore. This has been done by breathing intentionally and finding my natural tempo (rather than “pushing out the reps” faster than I can breathe).
Today as we wrapped up, I caught myself saying “I feel euphoric.”Ummmm… since when have I ever felt euphoric from working out?! Almost never!!
